Chess (2018)

Chess is a musical with music by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus of the pop group ABBA, and with lyrics by Tim Rice. The story involves a politically driven, Cold War-era chess tournament between two men - Freddie Trumper, an American grandmaster (Raúl) and his Soviet rival, Antoly Sergievsky (Ramin Karimloo)—and their fight over a woman, Florence Vassy (Karen Olivo) who manages one and falls in love with the other.

Chess was staged for a limited run at the Eisenhower Theater, The Kennedy Center, D.C from Feb 14 to Feb 18, 2018
